I had the privilege of visiting Schnitzel Haus in May 2008 and the food and service is five star. It ranks with any New York restaurant. The food is exquisite with generous portions with friendly atmosphere. Congratulations Fred, Schnitzel Haus will be around for a long time. |

I don't even like German food, but this place changed my mind. The sausages are really good and the portions are large enough to feed two. Although a hot pretzel may seem simple - they know how to do it right. The potato pancakes are awesome as well as the sides that come with dinner. Also, try the potato leek soup - amazing! The restaurant is clean with a very nice atmosphere. Wait staff is friendly and the beers are good! The vegetarian platter is also very good!

Passed by the place today and did some research on it. Chef Uwe used to be the chef at Killmeyers in Staten Island. I've noticed a striking similarity between both food and beer menus. Can't wait to try the place. Does this place have a biergarten? Hope to see you soon in here - We have a main dining room and a 2nd floor to accomodate overflow and primarily catered parties, however we do have an outside veranda for our guests to enjoy the fresh air. Stopped in this place Super Bowl Sunday for the free buffet, figured what could we lose. Not only did we WIN (Go GIANTS) but the buffet was great, selection of beers fantastic and the bartender, let say "on the money!". We even had a chance to share a beer with the owner, Fred(I think- sorry if wrong) and although never been in this place before, my fiance booked my 40th birthday party that night based upon what service we got even though there were only a few people there. This place has a great atmosphere, good people and a great selection of beer and food, it is definetly worth checking out! See you soon Steve - LET GO GIANTS 2009!!! |

wie versprochen schreibe ich, auch wenn wir mittlerweile wieder über eine Woche zu Hause sind! Nochmals vielen Dank für die hervorragende Bewirtung! Uns allen war es wirklich eine Freude endlich mal keine Burger oder ähnliches zu essen sondern, wie du schon sagtest, gute deutsche Küche genießen zu dürfen! I finally tracked Uwe down in Brooklyn. Missed his wonderful Sauerbraten and Red Cabbage since he left Killmeyer's. My nephew from Germany commented that the Rouladen were better than his mother's. Quite a compliment!!

I found this great establishment by accident due to gridlock traffic conditions in Brooklyn. I parked my Mustang and walked 5th ave. I found this place and had dinner. WOW! Since then I've been back every Friday and brought a bunch of co-workers both for Christmas and New Years dinner. The beer is the best, the food fantastic, the music GRAND! One of the BEST restaurants in the USA! |

Without doubt the most authentic, tastiest German fair we have found in the states to date. We both travel often and my wife was born in Germany, any trip has to include a German restaurant. Who would have known that the best was right here at home! We met with the owner Fred, who took the time to introduce himself and inquire about our visit in between serving food and bussing tables. Hands down this is the BEST place we have ever eaten. GREAT service, GREAT music, GREAT food, and a GREAT selection of beers. One of the most delightful aspects of the Schnitzel Haus, besides Fred & Uwe's sparkling personalities, is the unfailing quality of food and drink. It is a 35 mile journey for us each way and we never give the trip a second thought, because the meals are always simply superb. We have sampled almost everything on the menu and have never, ever, been disappointed. Uwe is the King Midas of Chefs! The Schnitzel Haus is a must for all who love good food. |
